ANDREW :: Down Syndrome

Meet Andrew!!!
“My child has Down Syndrome, however, that doesn’t stop him from doing whatever he sets his mind to. He is very smart. He is a little delayed, but nothing stops him. He’s very lovable. He likes to cuddle and give kisses. He learns and teaches us something new each day. We are Team Andy!!!”

Please join Sweet Nectar Society in cheering on our Sweetie Andrew!

ERICK :: CONGENITAL HEART DEFECT

Meet Erick!
Baby Erick Jr. was diagnosed with several congenital heart defects 3 weeks after birth. At that time we were told he would need to undergo open heart surgery. He was failing to thrive due to congestive heart failure. He was also diagnosed with Double output of the right ventricle (DORV), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Pulmonary Stenosis. There were no issues during pregnancy and had no idea he was born with a heart condition. He had his open heart surgery on June 16, 2016 at Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera. He was in surgery for a total of 11hrs. He was released from the hospital 6 days after his surgery and is now doing well. While we can’t tell baby Erick’s future, there are no additional surgeries needed at this time but he does continue to have an issue with Pulmonary Stenosis which may require some type of correction in the future. He is now thriving, and doing all the things a 1 1/2 yr. old does! He has given so many of our friends and family strength and enlightenment with his courageous and uplifting soul!

Please join Sweet Nectar Society in encouraging this sweet little guy! Erick, you will do amazing things!

Thank you N. Godinez Photography for donating Erick’s Sweet Session

AMIA :: SOX 2 ANOPHATHALMIA SYNDROME

Meet Amia!
“My daughter Amia is a twin. She was diagnosed with hydrocephalus during the 4th month of pregnancy. When she was born they realized she had more than that. An MRI was done and they found out she also has Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum. She had emergency transfer to UCSF where she had a VP shunt placed. Since then she has been diagnosed with multiple conditions and sees multiple specialist. She has developmental delayed, eye issues, Gerd, tortacollis, 2p22.3 gene publication, low muscle tone, short stature, Airway reactive disease, and Tracheomalacia, with possible Sleep apnea and hormone issues. In May 2017 she was diagnosed with SOX2 Anophathalmia Syndrome, which was done thru genetics. It’s very rare and is the reason to everything else she has. The main issues she has been having lately is lung issues. With all that she is an extremely happy child and very loved.”
Please join us in sending some sweet thoughts Amia’s way!
