Meet Evangeline! After a long road to finding a diagnosis for Evangeline’s sister Lilianna, there was no question that Evangeline shared the rare form of Congenital Muscular Dystrophy SYNE 1 gene with her sister. Evangeline continues to work on sitting on her own and working on getting her to crawl. Both girls keep busy with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and other doctors appointments. Our family has been blessed with so many wonderful therapists, teachers and doctors who have loved, supported and encouraged our family throughout these past 6 1/2 years. Our girls are a precious gift and blessing to our family.

Meet Lilianna! Lilianna was born with a rare form of Congenital Muscular Dystrophy SYNE 1 gene. For the first five and a half years of Lilianna’s life she went through numerous tests, therapies and equipment without having a specific diagnosis. She was considered severely hypotonic and failure to thrive. But she continued to fight through her first year of life and defied the doctors expectations. She crawled at the age of 23 months and after assistance of a Kid walk and K-walker she miraculously got up one Sunday afternoon at 3 years and one month and walked on her own. She has never looked back. God has given her a strong, stubborn personality that has overcome her physical weaknesses.
Join Sweet Nectar Society in encouraging sweet Lilianna to keep on breaking through others expectations!

Meet Jonathan:
“Jonathan is an adventurous little guy. Right after he turned 2 he was diagnosed with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. Even though he is quite high functioning, his left side is significantly weaker. Doctors think that he had a stroke shortly after birth. We are not quite sure what caused the stroke, but he had a lot of difficulty breathing when born. He was in the Kaweah Delta NICU for a day then transferred to Valley Children’s Hospital where he stayed for 3 more days.
Jonathan is currently in the local Bright Start program and has made great strides physically, verbally, socially, and cognitively. He also does physical therapy and occupational therapy once a week. Both Dan and I are thrilled with how far he has come and continue thanking God daily for this little boy that He gave us.”
